Woodnesborough's Under 15 side, were away to Highfield United in their first game of the season. In the first half they had to contend with an uphill pitch and face onto the strong winds and rain but fought strongly to go into half time at 2 - 2. Mitchel Bowman struck in that half, after a brilliant pass from Nick Dixon, closely followed by Woodies second goal through a half-volley by Josh Chana. The second half saw the tide turn, having the wind and slope in their favour, they immediately took control of the game. Although Woodnesborough were dominating possession, Highfield managed to score on the break. Soon after though, James Hunt scored from a brilliantly taken free kick and then Mitchell Bowman struck twice more to get his hat-trick. Just went both sides seemed exhausted, Josh Chana broke from the half way line and through Highfield's defence and rounded the Highfield keeper to net for Woodnesborough's 6th, leaving the final score 3 - 6.
18/09/11 - Dynamo United
Woodnesborough Under 15s had a tough home match against Dynamo Utd on Sunday. For the first 10 minutes of the game, boro dominated possession and look to be on for a win but a clever break by Dynamo saw them go 1-0 up. Woodnesborough didn't rest on their laurels and a few minutes equalised through a shot from Josh Chana. After the break, the play was end to end and it wasn't long before Dynamo took the lead again. Boro continued to fight strong and their efforts were rewarded by top corner free kick by James Hunt. Woodnesborough nearly took all 3 points but Chana was unlucky to see his curling shot come back off the cross bar in the dying minutes. Returning defender Harry Spence took the player of the match title.
25/09/11 - South Ashford
Woodnesborough U15's suffered their first defeat of the season in division 3 of the EKYL. Away to South Ashford, Woodnesborough travelled with several first team players absent and knew it would be a tough game. Boro were left in the starting blocks at kick off and didn't really find their feet until the second half but by then it was too late and lost the game 5 - 0.
02/10/11 - Grasshoppers
Woodnesborough Under 15s had their second defeat of this season, at home to the Grasshoppers. Woodnesborough took the lead from a penalty, taken by Mitchell Bowman and for the next 20 minutes thoroughly dominated possession and territory. Grasshoppers, currently leading Division 3, didn't sit back though and soon settled into the game. Grasshoppers managed to snatch an equalizer and quickly followed it with a second during the latter part of the first half. The second half proved as costly for Woodies when the Grasshoppers took advantage of a lack of concentration by back four and scored two more. Woodies didn't give up and although the heat was taking its toll, Mitchell Bowman fired a long range shot that found the back of the net. Final score 2-4, men of the match were Mitchell Bowman and Elliott Golden..
09/10/11 - Hythe Stars & Stripes
Woodnesborough Under 15s faced division 2 side Hythe Stars and Stripes
in round 1 of the Mick Kelly Memorial Cup. Woodnesborough dominated
from the kick off, nearly netting twice in the first minute of the game
and it wasn't long before Mitchell Bowman scored the first of his
hat-trick, all coming in the first 40 minutes. Hythe managed to get 1
goal back in the first half and came back at Boro in the 2nd half,
levelling the score at 3-3. Both teams then dug deep but Woodnesborough
proved to be the stronger team and Eliott Golden score a golden goal to
make it 4-3 to the Woodies. Man of the match was Harry Cowell.
16/10/11 - Herne Bay Harriers
Woodnesborough U15s were in a boisterous mood on the back of the cup win last weekend but unfortunately failed to find that form at home to Herne Bay Harriers. Although the Woodies took control during the first ten minutes, against the run of play, Herne Bay struck first and the hit 3 more before half time. Woodnesborough' s heads didn't drop and during the second half, it was one goal a-piece, leaving the final score 5-1 to Herne Bay Harriers. Man of the match was James Hunt, whose fabulous defending saved the home side blushes.
